Pole barns
How long does a pole barn take?
A kit is typically ready in about 5 days from your order. For a crew build, call and we'll tell you where you'd land on the building schedule.
Who builds the barn?
Our build crews are seasoned contractors who work for Lucky Lumber, building our pole barn kits. Within 100 miles of Seymour.
How far will you come to build a pole barn?
We build within 100 miles of Seymour, and we deliver packages within 100 miles too. If you're sitting right on the line, call us and we'll work it out.
Do I need concrete or a foundation?
No. The poles go in the ground, so a pole barn needs no floor and no foundation. That's what makes it the most economical building you can put up. Posts can be set in ground or on a pad.
Do you pour concrete, do dirt work, or pull permits?
No. Concrete, dirt work, and permits are the customer's to handle, on pole barns and house packages both. We'll tell you what the building needs so you can line those up ahead of time.
What sizes do you build?
We stock material for 23', 30', and 40' widths, in lengths from 24' to 120' and sidewall heights of 10', 12', 14', and 16'. We quote custom sizes all the time, so ask.
Is the building engineered?
Our basic design is engineered to the 2021 International Building Code. For projects in coded counties, we provide professional engineering services (additional fees apply).
How much clearance does an overhead door need?
As a rule of thumb, at least 24 inches from the bottom of the header to the bottom of the truss, which covers the door and the opener. Measurements change once concrete is in, so call and we'll work it out with you.
House packages
Is a house package a finished house?
No. It's a starter home package: the outside shell, ready to be finished on the inside by you. Interior walls, insulation, plumbing, electrical, fixtures, and flooring are all yours.
What does a house package cost?
Materials start at $9,490 for the 20x24 and run to $18,729 for the 28x48. All five sizes are priced on the house packages page, along with the add-ons.
Does it come with a floor plan?
No. The package is materials. You'll want a plan of your own, and some concept of how to build a building, since the lumber is not cut to length.
Do you do the concrete or the excavation?
No. We don't provide concrete work or excavation work on house packages.
Can a house package go on a stem wall or a basement?
Yes. We don't build stem walls or basements, but the package can go on top of one. The stem wall or basement foundation, and any concrete pad, is the customer's to provide.
Do your crews build house packages?
No. House packages are material only. You bring your own builder, or you build it yourself. Our crews build pole barns, and that work is priced on the pole barn page.
Money
How do I pay for a pole barn?
50% down gets you into the building schedule. The other 50% is due when the material is delivered.
Do contractors get an account?
No. We're cash only, with no credit accounts for anyone.
Do you offer financing?
We don't offer financing. Customers handle their own, and plenty use a local bank or a farm credit lender.
What's the warranty?
Painted metal panels carry a limited 40-year paint warranty, which lasts two to three times longer than asphalt shingles. Workmanship carries a one-year warranty.
